Hill Exits KKNT, Launches XM Features

SALEM Talk KKNT-A/PHOENIX host AUSTIN HILL has exited the station and is now doing features for XM SATELLITE RADIO's P.O.T.U.S. '08 election coverage channel. The vignettes are based on stories from his book "White House: Confidential - - The Little Book Of Weird Presidential History."
HILL joined KKNT with then-partner TOM LIDDY in SEPTEMBER, 2005 after a successful four-year stint at crosstown CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFYI-A. He has been filling in at stations like KFI-A/LOS ANGELES, KRLD-A/DALLAS, WMAL-A/WASHINGTON and WIND-A/CHICAGO, and continues as a columnist for SALEM's TOWNHALL.COM and the EAST VALLEY TRIBUNE in PHOENIX' eastern suburbs.
"This is a bittersweet departure," said HILL. "I've worked with many great people in the News/Talk division of SALEM COMMUNICATIONS, many of whom have become great personal friends. I'm hearing things like 'keep in touch' and 'don't be a stranger around here.' It's all very gratifying." He added, "I'm thankful for these two years with SALEM RADIO -- they've been great to me. This move allows me to now put my best foot forward with XM, and to move forward in the broadcast radio market as well."
On the new XM features, HILL said, "The XM team is doing some amazingly creative things with the P.O.T.U.S. channel. They're taking a completely fresh approach to covering the election, and they've given me an opportunity to tell my quirky, funny stories about past Presidents, in a way I never imagined would happen. It's great!"
