As tipped on ALL ACCESS, LOS ANGELES DODGERS baseball is returning to CITADEL Talk KABC-A/LOS ANGELES after a decade's absence. The DODGERS aired on KABC from 1973 through 1997 before moving to CLEAR CHANNEL's Sports KXTA-A (Now Talk KTLK-A) and, later, CBS News KFWB-A.
The move back to KABC was announced by team owner FRANK MCCOURT on DOUG MCINTYRE'S morning show TODAY (10/15). The deal includes a weekly SUNDAY night show and a pregame show prior to all 162 games, a post-game recap from Dodger broadcasters and several specials during the course of the season. All 162 regular season games and 15 pre-season games are included in the multi-year deal, which takes effect NOVEMBER 1st.
“The DODGERS and KABC became synonymous during the '70s, '80s and '90s, and we're very excited to be bringing back a piece of DODGER history as we begin the celebration of our 50th anniversary in LOS ANGELES,” MCCOURT said in a press release. “Listening to DODGER baseball on the radio has been a tradition in this city for a half-century, and we believe we'll be able to serve our fans extremely well with this new agreement.”
