Anchorage Talker Blames Oil Companies, Colleague For Firing
October 22, 2007 at 5:25 AM (PT)
MORRIS COMMUNICATIONS Talk KFQD-A/ANCHORAGE 10a-noon host EDDIE BURKE exits, and he told the ANCHORAGE DAILY NEWS that while the station cited presentation problems for his dismissal, he believes his firing after FRIDAY's show was over his on-air complaints about big oil companies and his support for the governor's plan to revise state oil taxes.
BURKE blamed afternoon host DAN FAGAN for telling management of the oil companies' discontent and threats to pull ads from the station. FAGAN denied any involvement with the station's action.
