UNITED STATIONS RADIO NETWORKS has signed an agreement whereby its national advertising sales team and its affiliate relations staff will both be handling sales and marketing duties for the nationally distributed programs originated by the DALLAS-based TKO RADIO NETWORK. USRN Pres./COO JIM HIGGINS made this announcement in conjunction with TKO principles, LARRY THOMPSON and SUSAN PRICE THOMPSON.
The three programming brands brought to USRN through this new arrangement are CLASSIC TOP 40 hosted by MARTY THOMPSON, HALL OF FAME COAST TO COAST also hosted by MARTY THOMPSON and INTO THE '70s with JOHN "RECORDS" LANDECKER.
Commenting on the marriage, USRN’s JIM HIGGINS noted that, "We’re incredibly excited to be working with these THOMPSON-produced programs and to merge their talent, their brands and their audiences into our own existing programming and network lineups. The CLASSIC TOP 40 show helps us grow our roster of weekday daypart content and their weekend shows are a perfect complement to the properties that we already produce and market."
SUSAN THOMPSON added, "We're thrilled to add some marketing muscle to our efforts on both the station side and the sponsor side. We feel we've come a long way with the TKO shows, but, the absolute best way to continue to grow is with the kind of alliance we’re building with USRN."
