Time Magazine Features Lee Hamilton's Escape From San Diego Fire

The story of CLEAR CHANNEL/SAN DIEGO sportscaster LEE "HACKSAW" HAMILTON's early-morning evacuation with his family from their SAN DIEGO-area home gets national exposure in a column written by the host for TIME MAGAZINE. The article details the evacuation from the 4:15a "reverse 911" call to the race to escape as flames came down the hillside, with HAMILTON, his wife, 93-year-old mother, dog and whatever possessions they could cram into suitcases driving through thick smoke as houses on their cul-de-sac burned. Much of HAMILTON's neighborhood was charred, but his house survived the fire thanks largely to a two-year-old fire-safe roof.
HAMILTON is reportedly set to be heard in afternoons once CLEAR CHANNEL flips Talk KLSD-A to Sports in the coming weeks. Read his fire story by clicking here.
