Report: CC/Cincinnati Forming 'Community Advisory Board'
October 29, 2007 at 5:38 AM (PT)
CLEAR CHANNEL/CINCINNATI is assembling the community advisory board that the LEAGUE OF UNITED LATIN AMERICAN CITIZENS demanded it create after two incidents that LULAC said were offensive to Mexicans earlier this year. The CINCINNATI ENQUIRER's JOHN KIESEWETTER reports that LULAC OHIO Deputy Director JASON PAUL RIVERO says he has been invited to be in the group of 15 community leaders that will meet monthly. Cluster Market Mgr. CHUCK FREDRICK declined comment before the panel is completed.
The panel is in response to LULAC's protest over a Talk WLW-A billboard that depicted a stereotypical Mexican man with donkey and the slogan "The Big JUAN" (a play on the station's "The Big One" slogan) and a later promo that included "helpful phrases" for illegal immigrants.
