CUMULUS Top 40 WWWQ (Q100)/ATLANTA PD DYLAN SPRAGUE tells ALL ACCESS, "This morning Q100/ATLANTA's BERT SHOW revealed they had met their goal of 375,000 "thank you letters for our troops overseas. The idea was to get a letter into each service members hands for THANKSGIVING. The show was about 50,000 short at deadline, but with the help of coverage by local TV stations, FOX NEWS CHANNEL and CNN -- and even a couple national radio shows (like DR. LAURA), we were able to exceed the goal. Volunteers from local churches, schools and the Q100 BERT SHOW community are currently scanning, sorting, bundling and boxing up the letters to be shipped to bases worldwide. A local ATLANTA business has donated the postage, while a local restaurant chain donated the warehouse space currently being used to collect the letters."
SPRAGUE continued, "The idea kind of evolved live on the air, just 2 weeks ago. So getting to the goal of 375,000 is simply a testament to how dedicated the Q100 BERT SHOW family is to community and philanthropy. Schools were writing letters by the thousands. Businesses e-mailed their staffs encouraging participation. We are all very proud of ATLANTA and THE BERT SHOW and so glad we will be able to touch each American soldier on foreign soil this THANKSGIVING."
