Comedian and former CBS Talk KLSX/LOS ANGELES voice PAT MELLON has joined the new morning show at KHWY AC KRXV (THE HIGHWAY STATIONS)/BARSTOW, CA. MELLON tams up with CORY BAKER and plans to make traveling from L.A. to L.V. a little more fun.
"I’ve made that drive a hundred times and parts of it are a little boring. There’s a whole lotta nothin’ along the 15 for a while. People need something to keep them from driving into a cactus. That’s what I am -- something to keep you from driving into a cactus."
FM 98 and 99 THE HIGHWAY STATIONS were the brain-child of HOWARD HUGHES who wanted to build a radio station that catered to people driving from LOS ANGELES to LAS VEGAS to spend all of their money. Indeed, a large portion of the stations’ advertising revenue comes from VEGAS shows and hotels and the station features several updates per hour about what’s happening on THE STRIP.
