Journal Communications Revenues Down

JOURNAL COMMUNICATIONS announced TODAY that for the tenth period ended OCTOBER 28th, 2007, total revenues from continuing operations for its Publishing and Broadcast groups of $39.10 million decreased 10.7% compared to $43.76 million reported for the tenth period ended OCTOBER 22nd, 2006, largely reflecting a $3.81 million decline in broadcast political and issue advertising revenue. For the tenth period 2007, advertising revenues from continuing operations of $33.75 million decreased 12.5% compared to $38.58 million for the 2006 tenth period. Both periods contained 28 days.
At the Broadcasting segment, total revenue at the Company’s radio and television stations of $18.11 million decreased 14.9% compared to $21.27 million. At the radio group, revenue of $6.56 million was down 7.9%, due to a decline of $0.18 million in political and issue advertising revenue as well weakness in local and national advertising.
