WOR's Bruno To Retire

BUCKLEY Talk WOR-A/NEW YORK VP/GM BOB BRUNO announced today that he will retire at the end of the year after almost 30 years at the station. BRUNO joined WOR as PD in 1978 after serving in the same capacity at crosstown METROMEDIA MOR WNEW-A in 1975-78. He was upped to VP/GM in 1988.
BRUNO said, "My career in radio has been more than I ever dreamed possible. I thank God and everyone who helped to make it such a rich and rewarding experience. Thanks in particular to RICK BUCKLEY for giving me the great privilege of managing his legendary property. My sincere wish for everyone at WOR is that their very best and brightest days are still ahead."
BUCKLEY RADIO President/CEO RICK BUCKLEY said, "BOB has been a wonderful steward of our property in NEW YORK for almost 20 years. We look forward to his continuing contribution as we will retain his services exclusively as a programming consultant throughout 2008. We wish him and his family well as they transition into the next phase of their life."
