ALL ACCESS has learned that CUMULUS VP/Country CHARLIE COOK will exit at the end of the year, as will VP/Urban KEN JOHNSON.
Both are leaving due to budgetary reasons, which was confirmed by COO JOHN DICKEY: "They are both great guys. This all comes down to budgetary matters. CHARLIE and KEN have been great team players and contributors to CUMULUS. We wish them the best.
In a memo obtained by ALL ACCESS, COOK wrote the staff that, "My contract expires at the end of the year and I am going to go and do some other things in the radio business." No word on specifics of his future plans yet. COOK joined CUMULUS from WESTWOOD ONE, where he had been Exec. VP/Programming, in JANUARY, 2006 in the then, newly-created post of Sr. Programmer.
JOHNSON has been with CUMULUS for the last nine years, and will announce his new plans, shortly. Before that, he was PD at WILDA-&F/BOSTON.
