CORSICANA MEDIA Classic Country KAND-A/CORSICANA, TX may be getting a stay of execution from its owner after several prospective buyers came forward, reports the CORSICANA DAILY SUN. Parent company NORTHLAND CABLE TV had announced plans to shut KAND down at the end of the year due to declining revenues, but Business Manager JIM BURGESS told the DAILY SUN that the management has "no plans of shutting it down or 'going dark' ... We will continue to (operate) as long as necessary to get the paperwork all done."
"We did not want to sell (KAND) to someone who was going to run it into the ground," BURGESS told the SUN while declining to name the interested buyers. "That would be more discomforting to the community than just shutting it down. We wanted someone who was going to build it and make it even better than what it is."
