December 3, 2007 at 10:55 AM (PT)
PEARL/BIG MACHINE recording artist GARTH BROOKS continues to rewrite the record books selling out five concerts at L.A.'s STAPLES CENTER in 59 minutes on SATURDAY (12/1) This is the first time any performer sold out that many shows in the L.A. arena in one day. Each of the five benefit concerts will raise money for the recent fire victims and for the future of fire fighting in the state of CALIFORNIA.
BROOKS will play the five concerts in just two days, a feat believed to have never before been attempted by any artist. BROOKS will perform two full shows on FRIDAY, JANUARY 25th at 6p and 10p (PT), and three more full concerts on SATURDAY, JANUARY 26th at 1p, 5p, and 9p (PT). It's the first-ever triple header in a U.S. arena.
With over 85,000 tickets sold in less than one hour, BROOKS becomes the only artist in STAPLES CENTER history to sell-out five concerts in one day, the only artist to play five concerts in two days and is believed to be the only performer to appear in three full concerts in one day and five full concerts in two days at any U.S. venue.
