CBS RADIO Country WQYK/TAMPA held its 'CHARLIE-PALOOZA,' event this past weekend with a celebrity poker challenge, golf tournament, auction and a day-long concert. With all of the proceeds going to charity, the station raised a total of $3 million.
Artists that played the concert included TRACE ADKINS, JENNIFER HANSON, CHRIS CAGLE, JAMES OTTO, MARK CHESNUTT and, of course, the namesake CHARLIE DANIELS. TRACE kicked off the weekend with a 'winners only' acoustic show at the HARD ROCK CAFE, with CHARLIE DANIELS popping in for a few songs.
Before CHARLIE left the stage, TRACE told him that he was the inspiration behind his new book, "A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions From a Free-Thinking Roughneck," and just happened to have a copy to present him.
