In an effort to replace money stolen from the Empty Stocking Fund (www.emptystockingfund.com), which benefits underprivileged children, CLEAR CHANNEL Active Rock WKLS/ATLANTA is in the midst of staging "50 hours for 50K," which started this morning.
The Giant Morning Show will be on the air for 50 hours, asking listeners to donate $50,000 to replace the value of the items that were stolen. The Empty Stocking Fund provides each child with one big item, one stocking stuffer, one article of clothing and one educational toy.
"It is the right thing to do to replenish the lost funds and send a strong message that ATLANTA supports ATLANTA and we won't let a burglary ruin CHRISTMAS for so many kids," Giant Show host BRIAN CAROTHERS stated.
Co-host SHAFFEE ABRAHAM seconded that emotion by adding, "It feels good to know that we have an opportunity to make this magical time of year a little more enjoyable for a lot of local kids."
