Bauer Buys Emap Radio, Publishing

German publishing giant HEINRICH BAUER VERLAG KG is buying the radio and publishing divisions of EMAP for 1.14 billion pounds sterling. EMAP will retain its trade magazine and exhibition operations and will concentrate on business-to-business ventures.
EMAP RADIO, the U.K.'s second largest commercial radio group, owns 38 local stations and digital radio interests and owns the MAGIC and KISS brands. BAUER publishes 166 magazines in 14 countries, including several supermarket checkout-style publications in the U.S. (such as IN TOUCH, LIFE AND STYLE, WOMAN'S WORLD, and FIRST) and U.K. (BELLA, TV CHOICE, TV QUICK, TAKE A BREAK).
