NRG AC WLTQ (LITE 101.9)/OMAHA signed off the air YESTERDAY, and THE BIG O 101.9 signed on. The 80’s rock station will target Adults 25-54 and will benchmark the station with "All Music MONDAYS" from 9a-5p every MONDAY. The voice of THE BIG O is the infamous JOHN O’HURLEY, of MR. PETERMAN and DANCING WITH THE STARS fame.
PD BILLY SHEARS said, "It’s the music that many adults grew up with in OMAHA, like BRUCE PRINGSTEEN, THE POLICE, ERIC CLAPTON, TOM PETTY along with new favorites like U2, COLDPLAY and MATCHBOX 20. It’s upbeat, fun and very, very music intensive. If you like a lot of music, you’ll like THE BIG O."
GM RHONDA GERRARD adds, "We see a great opportunity for THE BIG O and the Rock AC format in this market and the new station fits perfectly within the strategic alignment of our NRG MEDIA cluster."
