Industry Vet Ken Ritter Passes Away

Former music promoter/producer and four-term BEAUMONT, TX mayor DAVID KENNETH "KEN" RITTER passed away SUNDAY (12/30) at his home after a long illness from complications of Lewi Body Disease. He was 79.
KEN began his career in the music industry as a teenager doing advance work for his uncle, TEX RITTER. He later worked with J.P. RICHARDSON (a.k.a. THE BIG BOPPER), JACK CLEMENTS and TRACY BYRD.
Outside of politics and the music business, RITTER also worked as a sales executive for PROCTER AND GAMBLE for more than 30 years and was named "Man Of The Year" for the HOUSTON-NEW ORLEANS division of the company.
A memorial service will be held THURSDAY (1/3) at 2p (CT) in the sanctuary of WESLEY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 3810 N. Major Drive in BEAUMONT. A reception will follow the service in the WESLEY FAMILY CENTER.
