Landmark Considers Sale Of Weather Channel

LANDMARK COMMUNICATIONS has disclosed that it is looking into selling THE WEATHER CHANNEL and other properties, and possibly the entire company. JPMORGAN CHASE AND CO. and LEHMAN BROTHERS HOLDINGS INC. are handling the review of LANDMARK's options, which include selling its newspapers as well as TWC.
TWC includes THE WEATHER CHANNEL RADIO NETWORK as well as the cable TV network and WEATHER.COM; LANDMARK could get over $5 billion in a sale of TWC. The company also oens the NORFOLK VIRGINIAN-PILOT, the GREENSBORO NEWS AND RECORD, and the ROANOKE TIMES and CBS affiliates WTVF (TV)/NASHVILLE and KLAS-TV/LAS VEGAS.
