TNS MEDIA INTELLIGENCE is forecasting 0.7% year-to-year growth in radio ad revenues for 2008, a growth rate that trails all other media but business-to-business magazines and newspapers.
TNS puts overall 2008 ad growth at 4.2%, led by a 14.4% increase for the Internet, 9.9% for spot television, 7.8% for Spanish-language media (excluding radio), 5.5% for outdoor, 5% for cable network TV, 3.6% for magazines, 2.7% for network TV, and 1.3% for syndicated TV. Radio's share of the overall ad pie will shrink from 7.3% to 7%, TNS predicts, with the Internet, jumping from a 7.1% to 8% share of revenues, passing radio in that regard.
