PREMIERE's GLENN BECK told all on MONDAY's show following his return from surgery and the posting of a video at his website and YOUTUBE that indicated a health care system nightmare experience.
BECK, broadcasting from his CONNECTICUT house MONDAY morning, admitted "it was butt surgery" and reeled off several obvious butt-related jokes, adding that he had had a problem for several years but put off the surgery because it would take seven to 10 days to recover.
He described his post-surgery problems, including extreme pain and breathing problems caused by medication, and said that he spent five days in the hospital on various painkillers including morphine and fentanyl, during which he said that he became afraid to close his eyes for fear that he would not wake up. He said he hallucinated seeing children's faces gnawed off by dogs and horses and people waiting to kill him, and said that he got "so disgusted by everything I was living in" and "convinced that I would never get well" that he told his wife not to come to the hospital.
An emotional BECK complained that the system showed him no compassion while he was unable to breathe properly. BECK, who likened the experience to dealing with the DMV, and his wife will talk about their experience with the health care system on ABC's GOOD MORNING AMERICA TUESDAY morning (1/8).
