HARRIS CORPORATION has been awarded a contract from broadcast systems integrator COMMUNICATIONS ENGINEERING INC. to help modernize the INTERNATIONAL BROADCASTING BUREAU'S VOICE OF AMERICA (VOA) facility in WASHINGTON, D.C. COMMUNICATIONS ENGINEERING INC. is designing the facility's new broadcast system. Under the contract, HARRIS BROADCAST COMMUNICATIONS will provide master control, routing and quality control systems -- including 12 channels of master control playback controlled by a HARRIS automation system.
"CEI chose the HARRIS automation solution because VOA demanded high reliability and a proven system widely used in the industry in order to broadcast information," said CEI Pres./CEO LAWRENCE BRODY.
