A comedy bit on PUBLIC RADIO INTERNATIONAL's "FAIR GAME" with FAITH SALIE drew the wrath of the CATHOLIC LEAGUE against noncommercial KCPW/SALT LAKE CITY, which aired the show.
The sketch parodied the real-life creation of the "Huckaburger" by a NEW HAMPSHIRE chef honoring presidential candidate MIKE HUCKABEE, imagining a HUCKABEE-voiced commercial for "Deep-Fried Body of CHRIST," prompting the CATHOLIC LEAGUE's BILL DONOHUE to complain, but for some reason he focused his wrath on KCPW, an affiliate of the show.
SALIE, who noted that she is a Catholic, has apologized and the CATHOLIC LEAGUE has accepted, saying "We are satisfied with this outcome -- it effectively ends this issue;" News Director/PD BRYAN SCHOTT says that he took the sketch as parodying HUCKABEE's Southern roots and past problems with obesity, not at Catholicism.
