JONES RADIO NETWORKS is adding the JONES STANDARDS format, launching JANUARY 19th. The format is a fresh mix of classic songs performed by the great singers of yesterday and today’s top vocalists, familiar instruments and top hits. The format will feature singing legends such as FRANK SINATRA, HARRY CONNICK JR., TONY BENNETT, ROD STEWART, NEIL DIAMOND and ELLA FITZGERALD.
"JONES STANDARDS will certainly remain true to the core audience, but just as other formats evolve, so should standards," said JRN Group VP/GM PHIL BARRY. "Our research has clearly indicated that we cannot look at JONES STANDARDS as some sort of modified soft AC. Personalities are extremely important. ‘That was…, this is…,’ won't cut it. We're taking the approach that we're playing ‘The Greatest Songs Ever Made’-- our presenters will be very knowledgeable and will make our listeners comfortable, while not spending too much time reminiscing," said BARRY.
