January 21, 2008 at 5:21 AM (PT)
DECEMBER was another grim month for radio revenue, with the RAB releasing figures showing overall revenue off 5% for the month on a year-to-year basis. Local revenue fell 4% and national, which more heavily impacts the larger markets, dropped 12% for the month.
Non-spot revenue continued to be the only category showing growth, with a 12% increase.
Local and national revenues are based on approximately 150 markets as reported by the accounting firm of MILLER KAPLAN ARASE & CO. Non-spot data has been collected and verified since JANUARY of 2002, and reported since SEPTEMBER of 2004 by the RAB.
