XM SATELLITE RADIO's P.O.T.U.S. '08 political coverage channel drops the NEW HAMPSHIRE-based "WAKE UP AMERICA" show after just two airings, reports the PORTSMOUTH HERALD. The show, based at noncommercial Variety WSCA-LP/PORTSMOUTH, NH and also available as a podcast, is hosted by NANCY BEACH, MEG MIDDLETON, and KATHY SOMSSICH.
BEACH complained to the paper that "Instead of constructive criticism and feedback, they just pulled the plug. The official reason? Good question." XM's DAVID BUTLER told the paper that the show "just wasn't the right fit.... The problem is not with the views represented, but the style and format." He added that the show "focused primarily on personal opinion. It lacked public policy and elections strategy depth that is consistent on the channel."
