Mt. WILSON BROADCASTING Country KKGO (GO COUNTRY)/LOS ANGELES PD TONYA CAMPOS tells ALL ACCESS that they are back up at full power after being knocked off the air for almost 24-hours over the weekend.
CAMPOS said the station went off at about 10a (ET) on SATURDAY (01/26) morning, due to snow and ice. The roof of the building that houses the antenna buckled under heavy snow, causing damage to the transmitter. CAMPOS added: "Where the tower is, it's 5000 feet above sea level and we received a lot of snow and ice, closing the road that leads to the tower."
Another complication of the incident- there was a GARTH show that same night at the STAPLES CENTER. "It's unfortunate that all these people were in town and we were off the air," said CAMPOS.
