N.Y. Times Revenue Down For Q4

The NEW YORK TIMES CO. overall revenue from continuing operations dropped 7.1% for fourth quarter (down 1.7% adjusted for an extra week in fourth quarter 2006), but net profit jumped from a loss of $648 million (including a writedown of part of the value of the BOSTON GLOBE) to a gain of $53 million (37 cents/share). Ad revenue fell 5.6% for the news operation and 2.7% for the media group.
The company does not break out results for its only radio property, Classical WQXR/NEW YORK.
