Does talk radio influence how listeners vote? A BENCHMARK CO. study says that 86% of respondents claim talk radio has no influence on their voting decisions. 4% said talk radio has a moderate influence on their voting habits, 9% said talk radio has very little influence, and only 1% said talk radio has a strong influence on their votes. The poll surveyed 1,000 adult talk radio listeners 18-65.
CEO Dr. ROB BALON noted that "Talk radio is at its best when it entertains listeners, not when it tries to exhort them to change political behaviors." He said that the study suggests that "preaching from the bully pulpit can be very tedious to talk listeners."
