NEXTMEDIA Classic Rock WERV/AURORA-CHICAGO APD and afternoon-driver SCOTT CHILDERS segues to sister AC WSSR (STAR 96.7) as afternoon-drive personality and Director of IT for the WSSR and News/Talk WJOL-A websites.
CHILDERS replaces TODD BOSS who segues to Country sister station WCCQ for afternoons and IT duties for WCCQ and ROCKER WRQX (100.7 RXQ). He is joined by WCCQ afternoon talent MAGGIE PETERSON who returns to mornings effective MONDAY (2/11).
STAR 96.7 PD RYAN SNOW commented, "I'm pumped! MAGGEE has lived in this area her whole life... SCOTT has lived here his whole life, too... JOSH (our midday guy) has been in this area for over seven years. We're not pretending to be local... we ARE local! In addition to great music, we'll be super-serving our specific area. Local radio -- what a concept! Oh, SCOTT if you are reading this, your first day on air is WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 6th"
According to SCOTT CHILDERS, "After nearly four years with THE RIVER, I am looking forward to the new challenges and a lot of fun at STAR. Plus, I feel that I can utilize my radio knowledge to better integrate our websites with our radio stations."
CHILDERS will also continue to deliver traffic and banter SUNDAY mornings with DEAN RICHARDS on TRIBUNE Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO.
