ALL ACCESS sends its condolences to the family and friends of long-time music marketing executive ERIC FERRIS died JANUARY 18th after an extended battle with cancer; he was 41. FERRIS was SVP/Marketing at HOLLYWOOD RECORDS and prior to that, held several posts at VIRGIN RECORDS.
SMASHING PUMPKIN mastermind BILLY CORGAN offered the following tribute to ERIC:
"I have worked with many talented people on the business side of music, and as is too often the case, success brings with it new label friends who seem to disappear when it no longer suits their personal corporate advancement agendas! ... ERIC was never one of those people; he was too smart, too cool, and too real for that ... He fought for us, told us secrets he could have been fired for, and stayed with us years after the fact because he was passionate ... Family was always his number-one priority, and music second, and I will forever respect him for that."
A memorial service will be held SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 9th at 6:30p. at ST. PAUL THE APOSTLE CHURCH, 10750 Ohio Ave., LOS ANGELES.
