Stephens Closes On Upstate N.Y. Deals

DAVID STEPHENS' KXOJ, INC. and STEPHENS FAMILY LP have closed on the purchase of the REGENT COMMUNICATIONS cluster in WATERTOWN, NY and the MARTZ GROUP stations in MASSENA and OGDENSBURG, NY.
The REGENT deal, including Talk WTNY-A, Sports WNER-A (ESPN 1410 THE WINNER), Country WFRY (FROGGY 97) and Classic Hits WCIZ (Z-93)/WATERTOWN, cost STEPHENS $6.25 million and the MARTZ deal, including Oldies WMSA-A/MASSENA, AC WVLF (VALLEY 96.1)/NORWOOD, Classic Hits WRCD (101.5 THE FOX) and Country WNCQ (Q Country 102.9)/CANTON, Top 40 WYSX (YES FM)/MORRISTOWN,and Oldies WPAC (PAC 98.7)/OGDENSBURG was priced at $5.095 million.
DICK FOREMAN represented the sellers and JOHN PIERCE AND CO. represented the buyers.
