Report: WRKO's Finneran Won't Lobby

The BOSTON GLOBE reports that ENTERCOM Talk WRKO-A/BOSTON morning host TOM FINNERAN will drop his plans to be a lobbyist while serving as a radio host at the same time. The decision ends a controversy that followed an earlier GLOBE report that revealed FINNERAN's STATE HOUSE lobbying activity with his former law partner, JAMES E. BYRNE.
According to the paper, the station "rejected (FINNERAN's) plan to lobby," leading FINNERAN, the former MASSACHUSETTS Speaker of the House, to choose doing the show over the lobbying effort, which had already signed up two clients, the STATE POLICE ASSICIATION OF MASSACHUSETTS and the LIQUOR LIABILITY JOINT UNDERWRITERS ASSOCIATION.
