Yahoo Flirts With AOL ... Will Microsoft Get Jealous?

It's a corporate version of "any port in a MICROSOFT storm" -- YAHOO is now "in discussions" with TIME WARNER’s AOL about some sort of business arrangement, the LONDON TELEGRAPH reports. This follows reports that YAHOO was talking with RUPERT MURDOCH's NEWS CORP. about combining its online properties, also as a hedge against MICROSOFT's FEB 1st acquisition offer..
The specifics of the AOL/YAHOO discussions are unclear, but the THE TELEGRAPH.notes that "anti-trust laws may complicate matters because GOOGLE owns a small stake in AOL and has advertising deals with the company."
YAHOO's continued pursuit of suitors is considered to be a move to enhance its value that, at the very least, would prompt MICROSOFT into substantially raising its initial offer.
