Pittsburgh Legend Myron Cope Dies

Condolences to family, friends, and fans of MYRON COPE, the legendary PITTSBURGH sports broadcaster, who died WEDNESDAY (2/27) of respiratory failure at 79.
COPE was part of the radio team for PITTSBURGH STEELERS broadcasts for 35 years until his 2005 retirement and also hosted shows on WTAE-A for 22 years; he was known for his creation of the "Terrible Towel" for fans to wave at STEELERS games and his colorful use of phrases like "double yoi." He was also a writer who started at the ERIE DAILY TIMES and PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE and later wrote for SPORTS ILLUSTRATED and the SATURDAY EVENING POST.
