BIG LEAGUE BROADCASTING Sports KFNS-A (590 THE FAN)/ST. LOUIS launches its second search for the market's "next great broadcaster" with "PUT UP OR SHUT UP 2," a repeat version of last year's fan competition. The station has picked 12 candidates to compete for their own one-hour weekly show for a year, with four on-air challenge shows in MARCH putting contestants through the paces of writing updates, interviewing athletes and coaches, and debating hosts. The winner will be chosen on MARCH 25th.
PD JASON BARRETT said, "Last year we had over 100,000 votes on KFNS.com for this contest and the feedback from the audience was amazing. What made it even more rewarding though was that we found 2 undiscovered talents in TOM WYLIE and MOSES and they in turn became part of our radio station and contributed in many different ways including working together on their own show."
"I receive tons of calls and emails all the time from people who think they have what it takes to be on the air but have no way of getting a foot in the door and this is an opportunity for 1 person to get on the fast track and prove that they have the skills to talk sports in ST. LOUIS," added BARRETT. "Many don’t know that our own CHRIS DIMINO actually got his break by being a caller and he’s developed into one of the best in the business and it just goes to show that you never know where the next great talent will come from."
