Blues Guitarist Jeff Healey Dies At 41

Condolences to family, friends, and fans of blues guitarist and jazz radio show host JEFF HEALEY, who died SUNDAY in TORONTO after a lifelong battle with cancer at 41.
HEALEY, who was blinded by the cancer, RETINOBLASTOMA, when he was a baby, was nominated for a Grammy for the song "HIDEAWAY" from his 1988 debut album "SEE THE LIGHT" on ARISTA RECORDS. His cover of JOHN HIATT's "ANGEL EYES" hit number 5 on BILLBOARD's Hot 100 in 1989.
HEALEY also hosted "MY KINDA JAZZ" on CBC RADIO and, later, Jazz CJRT (JAZZ 91FM)/TORONTO. He recorded three jazz albums with his band the JAZZ WIZARDS and operated JEFF HEALEY'S ROADHOUSE club in TORONTO. His latest album, "MESS OF BLUES," is scheduled for an APRIL 22 release in NORTH AMERICA and a MARCH 20 release in EUROPE.
