Radio Advisory Council: 'Sample, Sample, Sample'

ARBITRON RADIO ADVISORY COUNCIL Chairman and NRG MEDIA COO CHUCK DUCOTY held a conference call for the press TODAY following meetings in ORLANDO. DUCOTY began by saying, "The theme of our two-day meeting in ORLANDO was 'sample, sample, sample.' We want the best product we can get out there for the radio business."
The sample the RAC would like to see focused on is 12+, rather than 6+. With that, they have asked ARBITRON to "move 6-11 meters into the 12+ sample," said DUCOTY.
When ALL ACCESS asked about the recent 70 DDI mark achieved by ARBITRON in the 18-34 benchmarks in NEW YORK and PHILADELPHIA, DUCOTY was quick to say, "If two years from now we were at 70, I'd say that was not acceptable." Asked if six months from now it would be, he said he'd like to see progress. "We're moving in the right direction," he said.
DUCOTY said a web-based TAPSCAN product "will be available this SUMMER."
