Classic Public Radio: Dead Network Airing
March 7, 2008 at 1:33 PM (PT)
Sources tell ALL ACCESS that the CLASSICAL PUBLIC RADIO NETWORK (CPRN) will cease network operations at the end of JUNE. CPRN staffers were notified last FRIDAY (FEB. 29th); reportedly they will be assimilated into the local stations, and all programming will be created for the local (L.A. and DENVER) markets only.
Stations that are losing their CPRN automated classical hour have been contacting BEETHOVEN SATELLITE NETWORK (WFMT) and CLASSIC-24 (PRI) to find out how much more its going to cost them to continue airing syndicated Classical music.
