The DENVER RADIO COMPANY has promoted Dir./Sales BLAKE MENDENHALL to Pres./GM. He succeeds STEVE KEENEY, who is retiring. MENDENHALL, who joined DRC when it launched in 2006, is a 22-year radio industry vet who was DOS for CBS RADIO/DENVER and at CITADEL/ALBUQUERQUE.
"I’m excited and honored to be appointed Pres./GM for DRC’s ONE FM and MARTINI RADIO," MENDENHALL stated. "STEVE KEENEY and I have worked together off and on for the past 13 years and there was no person in the industry better suited to prepare me for this challenge. Our new formats are being well received, and I’m confident that our team is poised for growth and success."
STEVE KEENEY has served as Pres./GM since the company's inception and will remain on its board of directors and in a local advisory capacity. "Being a part of the building and launching from scratch of two brand new full class-C FMs has been an extraordinary pleasure for me ... one that few GMs experience," KEENEY said. "I have especially enjoyed the day-to-day interaction with our staff, whose friendship I will continue to value."
DENVER RADIO COMPANY is currently doing an exhaustive national search for a Director of Sales.
