The reconstruction of the LA MIRADA tower of CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFI-A/LOS ANGELES that began on SATURDAY (3/15) suffered a setback TUESDAY when a large portion of the tower construction fell. One worker was injured in the accident, which is under investigation. The work is being performed by SEACOMM ERECTORS, INC., hired by CLEAR CHANNEL to rebuild the tower, which was partially toppled in a fatal plane-tower crash a few years ago.
KFI moved its transmission location to the former KRKD-A/KIIS-A (now KTLK-A at a different location) towers in MONTECITO HEIGHTS on SATURDAY with reduced power, while the LA MIRADA site off Interstate 5 is rebuilt.
