RADIO2DOT0, LTD. launches a mobile phone news and weather service, ONMYCELL.INFO, in a partnership with voice messaging company GOTVOICE. The unique service provides news and weather information updates directly into the voice mailbox of subscribers.
"As local radio seeks ways to expand into the mobile and online content markets, we’re making this move to give affiliates a clear way to monetize their efforts,” said RADIO2DOT0 President SCOTT ROBERTS. "Creating this new service enables our affiliates to fully connect with their audience at home, at work, or anywhere in the world, day or night."
The service includes RADIO2DOT0's exclusive "AdvantageWeather Alerts," featuring Chief Meteorologist RYAN MARTIN and offering custom heads-up alerts any time a severe weather watch is issued, including his prediction of the time of storm arrival and severity. The reports include promotion of client stations' on-air severe weather coverage provided by RADIO2DOT0 as well as reminders that updated severe weather information is available on the station’s web presence and stream. The service debuts at a price point of $1.79 a month, with stations receiving a substantial portion of the revenue.
"Our voice messaging services are designed to provide seamless access to time-sensitive information for mobile phone users," said GOTVOICE VP Marketing COLIN LAMONT. "Our collaboration with RADIO2DOT0 is helping to facilitate an unprecedented method for providing real-time, breaking news and weather information to the public. This is an exceptional, real-world application for how our portfolio of offerings are shaping the way people send and receive information."
