WAVE UNIVERSAL INC. will produce "State of Radio," a documentary centering on the current landscape of the radio industry. With public adaption of many new sources of media, including mp3 players, the Internet and cell phones, the movie claims the radio industry faces possible extinction and how radio is coping in such a fierce marketplace. With executives devising strategies to combat audience loss, the production also focuses on those closest to the frontline -- radio DJs and personalities.
Executive Producer of the film, THOMAS STAMPFLI, has close ties to the radio community. "Radio has been facing major changes over the past few years," said STAMPFLI, once employed in the radio industry. "It’s almost a tragic tale -- a medium once touted as the most powerful is now practically struggling for survival, or at least that’s how it seems to those employed." The film’s focus touches on not only the industry itself, but the community that is employed by it.
The film is set to begin production in SPRING, 2008. For info, contact THOMAS STAMPFLI, Executive Producer at (800) 365.6214 x102 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
