The saga of the SNOHOMISH radio towers continues, as a group opposed to the construction of six towers for SR BROADCASTING Sports KRKO-A (NORTHSOUND 1380)/EVERETT, WA and a new station at 1520 AM is mailing brochures to local residents warning of health problems from the proposed tower array.
The EVERETT HERALD reports that the STEWARDS OF THE LAND AND COMMUNITY is sending the leaflets to 30,000 local residents to protest the towers, four of which have been approved by the county and two of which are being reviewed for possible health risks. Opponents have introduced a study from the AMERICAN JOURNAL OF EPIDEMIOLOGY suggesting a link between electromagnetic energy from radio towers and leukemia. A hearing on possible health impacts from the project is scheduled for APRIL 1st..
