FCC Cancels Two Fines

The FCC has cancelled $8,000 fines against BROADCAST ENTERTAINMENT CORPORATION and ACTION RADIO, LLC. The former, fined for public file violations, had its fine cancelled because the company had sold KICA-A and KKYC/CLOVIS, NM, but received an admonishment. The latter's fine was for EAS violations at KZZR-A and KQHC/BURNS, OR, and the fine was cancelled for financial hardship, but an admonishment was issued as well.
In another FCC action, the Commission rejected NASSAU BROADCASTING's appeal of the denial of its purchase of WWHK/CONCORD, NH from CAPITOL BROADCASTING CORP. for concentration reasons based on market definitions.
