Anti-Cross-Ownership Bill Set For Senate Committee Markup
April 1, 2008 at 5:15 AM (PT)
Markup for a proposed bill blocking the FCC from loosening cross-ownership rules has been set for WEDNESDAY (4/2) before the SENATE COMMERCE COMMITTEE.
The bill was proposed by Sen. BYRON DORGAN (D-ND) in response to the Commission's DECEMBER 18th vote to allow more common newspaper-broadcast ownership.
If the bill makes it through both houses, it faces a veto by President BUSH.
