Swick Buys Lake Cities Broadcasting Stations

STEVE SWICK is buying the LAKE CITIES BROADCASTING stations, including AC WLKI/ANGOLA, IN, Country WTHD (THUNDER COUNTRY 105.5)/LAGRANGE, IN, Country WLZZ/MONTPELIER, OH, Sports WMSH-A (ESPN AM1230) and Oldies WMSH-F (OLDIES 99.3)/STURGIS, MI for $3.8 million, the seller announced TUESDAY at the WLKI website.
The station's report, which notes, "This is no APRIL Fool's joke ... In this era of corporate and satellite radio, SWICK intends to keep a local presence on all of the stations. SWICK is taking over ownership of the five stations from TOM ANDREWS who helped sign WLKI on the air in July of 1974. ANDREWS says it's time to be semi-retired, but he will be available to SWICK in whatever capacity he is needed."
