Taylor Swift, Kellie Pickler Big Winners At CMT Awards

In a star-studded affair that included a wide variety of celebrities, artists, and even ex-presidents, the CMT MUSIC AWARDS seemed to be a big success last night (4/14), broadcast 'live' from BELMONT UNIVERSITY in NASHVILLE.

Maybe the biggest surprise of the evening was CARRIE UNDERWOOD not winning any of the belt buckle-shaped CMT AWARDS, but another former Idol, KELLIE PICKLER had a huge night, winning three awards.

The VIDEO OF THE YEAR Award went to TAYLOR SWIFT for "Our Song," which also brought home the belt buckle for TAYLOR as the FEMALE VIDEO OF THE YEAR. Other big winners included ROBERT PLANT and ALISON KRAUSS, SUGARLAND, TRACE ADKINS, RASCAL FLATTS, BRAD PAISLEY, and BON JOVI and LeANN RIMES.

When ROBERT PLANT, the former LED ZEPPELIN front man walked onstage to accept his belt buckle along with his duet partner ALISON KRAUSS for the WIDE OPEN COUNTRY VIDEO OF THE YEAR Award for, "Gone Gone Gone (Done Moved On)," the rock n' roll Hall of Famer offered his appreciation for Country music: "I'd like to say how peculiar it is to be here. It's a great honor to have made a record in NASHVILLE that sounds so good. I'd like to thank DON and PHIL EVERLY for getting me through my teenage years, and I'd like to thank ALISON for helping me get through my late 50s."
