River Intern Crashes Into Radio ... The Hard Way
April 16, 2008 at 9:52 AM (PT)
There's been a morning shake-up at CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WRVW (THE RIVER)/NASHVILLE .. literally. Morning dudes WOODY and JIM were pulled off the air at about 7:25a by OM/PD RICH DAVIS. Apparently, morning sidekick intern ADAM ran THE RIVER box truck into the building while trying to get it into the garage.
Because of W&J's history of having interns purposely ram vehicles into the building, DAVIS naturally didn't believe it was an accident and pulled W&J off the air for a full investigation. Intern Adam, who took the blame for the crash, had to run the rest of the show by himself -- something he's not qualified for and has never done.
Suffice it to say, the phones blew up more than the wall did, as ADAM attempted to run the show and W&J never returned. Visual evidence of this Richter-scale radio disaster can be found here.
