Sony BMG Shakeup: Barry Weiss Named BMG Chair./CEO, Clive Davis Upped To Worldwide CCO

In a major change at the top, SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT has promoted BARRY WEISS to Chairman/CEO of the BMG Label Group, while CLIVE DAVIS will assume the role of Chief Creative Officer for SONY BMG Worldwide. Also getting new duties is Global Marketing Pres. RICHARD SANDERS, who will become Head of International, as well as still overseeing Global Marketing.
BARRY WEISS will continue his role as Pres./CEO of the ZOMBA LABEL GROUP, where he signed and/or developed artists such as JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, BRITNEY SPEARS, R. KELLY, BACKSTREET BOYS and THREE DAYS GRACE.
CLIVE DAVIS has been a monumental figure in the music industry, having shaped the careers of artists such as JANIS JOPLIN, ALICIA KEYS, WHITNEY HOUSTON and CARLOS SANTANA.
Leaving the company are SONY BMG COO TIM BOWEN and BMG LABEL GROUP Pres./COO CHARLES GOLDSTUCK.
